My hometown is New Concord, Ohio. It is much different from Pittsburgh in every possible way
that you could think of. New Concord is a small place, its not even big enough to be considered a town
it’s a village. There is no public transportation; we do not even have a Wal-mart. If you would like to go
to a Wal-mart you would have to travel about 20-25 to either town beside us. The people in my “village”
all know each other and most of them have been there all their lives. In Pittsburgh you can walk around
for hours and you might see one person that you know. When you go to the local grocery store in my
hometown you will see everyone that you just saw at school you’ll see family and friends, its like a huge
reunion. Pittsburgh has a higher employment rate and better economy then my town in Ohio. There are
not as many layoffs as there is in New Concord, Ohio. The types of jobs that are available where I live
are limited to factories and fast food jobs don’t get me wrong there are good jobs in my town but there
is not as big of a variety as Pittsburgh. We do not have the museums or the theaters or any of the fine
arts available in my town unless you count the local cinema and I definitely wouldn’t. So basically New
Concord is a small hicktown and Pittsburgh is a big city well at least to me.
